yeah almost everything they do live amazes me. the way they know exactly what eachother is doing at all times. they know exactly what note to hit at the exact right time. to me, that is one of the coolest things about the band. how they just improvise but still somehow seem to know exactly what they are doing.Grachi wrote:if it disappoints, oh well.
hehe. I really won't lose sleep over it. Would I like a great album? Of course. But nothing can ever change how dave strums a guitar or writes his lyrics or how the band clicks together so easily.
So on that note, let whatever comes come, but I'll still enjoy listening to them.
What If The Next Album Disappoints You as Much as SU?

Yeah, how they somehow sinc up daves improv fills on songs like recently with stefan and carter staggers me.

i cant really say its 4 bad albums straight if this one sucks. busted stuff isnt bad. its just not really a new album, had LWS not leaked i think we all know itd be kickass, plus the new track off of that,YNK, is one of the best songs hes written. everyday wasnt great, but it wasnt terrible new, but different, some stuff is good. stand up is shit, ill give you that. but look at somedevil, it proves dave can still write, its just getting the creativity out with a good producer.

Zillions, if he use the same set of chords to write a hundred songs.Coldchillin23222 wrote:How many great songs can one man write?

I'm a realist.
When you get signed your first album usually consists of the tracks you've perfected and worked on for YEARS. .. The record co. wants another album asap and that's hard enough aka the sophomore slump.
DMB had a catalog of 30 + songs off the bat thanks to Dave.
Since I'm in a scene the consists of local live music and a number of musicians that are trying to "make it" I can really appreicate the skill and ability it takes to keep making kick ass RECORDINGS.
Because, if you think about it, it's harder to make recordings that are kick ass than it seems. DMB is a LIVE BAND. They can top anyone LIVE. But to make as many recordings as they have and to make that many recordings that are THAT good, is quite interesting.
When Everyday came out, a lot of people gave it shit, and rightfully so ( I did), but the album has quite a few redeeming tracks. SU is something totally different. But I have to think that you've got a group of normal people that happen to play music for a living, you can't expect to please everyone all the time. This release may not be MY cup of tea, but who is tell what the future brings? Right?

~ And rain washed away all her tears and I smiled done away was the sum of all my fears ~
I've been listening to dmb for a year or so. I used to think they suck, mainly because I sucked for not giving them a listen outside of the radio world. Plus this one kid at school kept praising them day in and day out as the best band ever, which got annoying. I wanted to punch him in the stomach every time I saw him. I thought he was narrow-minded as shit. But in reality I was. They aren't my favorite band, even after getting to like them. So pretty much what I am saying is, I wouldn't be the least bit upset if the next album is a dud. I haven't even listened to Stand Up yet. I heard one song on VH1 Storytellers, I think it was called "steady as we go". I wasn't too impressed, but it may be an acquired liking.
