This photo is from the L@LC sleave and is from the 1997 tour, because he is using the full bodied Lakewood M-32. On all of the 1999 tour, he used the HD-28 Martin Dreadnaught.

However, on the 1996 tour, he used another guitar, which looks like another Lakewood but is a cutaway. The following link shows actual photos from luther college 2/6/96. There are photos from other shows from the same tour on this site and he uses the same guitar for all of them.

That's the one. mystery solved, and another guitar Jared will have to put up in the new site ;) .

Also, has Dave been seen with his gibson outside the studio, or any more times in the studio?

Of course I haven't been able to confirm just by those pictures that the cutaway is indeed a another lakewood, but given the fact that he used lakewoods for both 96 and 97 tours, I conclude that he may have used both a cutaway and a fullbody lakewood during that time frame.

I really do believe that the cutaway is a Lakewood. Just from the looks of the body itself. A headstock doesn't necessarily need to be visible to identify a guitar. Think about it, if there was a picture of Dave with a Les Paul, with the headstock cut off, you'd know it was a les paul.

Here's a pic of a Lakewood with a Florentine cutaway:

Compare that guitar to the guitar he's got in this grainy pic:

I would guess Billies or Sat based on the hand position and how he looks while singing (I have had TOO much time to study the Stprytellers video today!)
