Thats retarded. You are supposed to give up things that are bad for you, indulgences like booze, chocolate, hookers, and red meat to feel sorry for your sins. Guitar is certainly not a bad indulgence. Unless the only songs you know how to play are Toby Keith and Alan Jackson and all that disgusting modern country music shit.

yeah, giving up guitar for lent is probably the DUMBEST thing i've ever heard of

the whole idea of lent is to be able to do without something that you would normally do, especially something that you love doing. So guitar is a good choice, unfortunately most of us aren't strong enough to do that. I know I couldn't.

WRONG, the whole idea of Lent is to abstain from sin, popular culture just turned it into a "spring resolution" holiday. and even within the realm of pop culture, peope usually give up things that are bad for you. how is guitar bad for you at all?
