I've been playing guitar for 5 years. My mom helped out when I started, but I pretty much taught myself by ear (which I inherited from my folks as well). I actualy can't see myself ever not playing guitar, though. I play constantly. I have a guitar in my lap right now. I always have a guitar with me, unless I can't help it (damn work . . . and bathroom).
I play a lot of Beatles/Lennon/Harrison. I also play some David Gray, Bob Dylan, Barenaked Ladies, Paul Simon, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Led Zepplin, Tori Amos (guitar adapted), Dream Theater, John Mayer, Tom Mcrae, Garbage, Wings/McCartney, and dab here and there.
I then write all the time. I have now have 56 songs I have written and kept.

Playing...
Ive been guitar for almost 3 years now, mainly acoustic. I gotta start getting into electric, but it seems like a hard transition. Anyone else have the problem?

Re: Playing...
Its harder to switch from electric to acoustic because the action on an acoustic is higher and if your not use to having to hold the strings down that hard then you will have problems as first. But going from acoustic to Electric is easier. At least it is for me.GrateDMB21 wrote:Ive been guitar for almost 3 years now, mainly acoustic. I dont mean like action or anything like physical wise towards the guitar. 9 out of the 10 times I'll choose to play my acoustic over my electric. I'm having trouble I guess finding that "passion" you can say, for the electric guitar. I tend to get bored faster playing electric then acoustic. I dont know why...

I've been playing about 2 years and I must thank the creaters of this site and of course Dave for making me a better guitar player by learning so many Dave songs.
I play a lot of styles but mostly Dave.
