I want to play #40...

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

#40 is such a great song. And the Yoshi Lyirics are the best ones out there. That show is one of the all time best shows dave has ever put on....
Sonmetimes I would try to catch her, but I never even caught her name.....

seriously? how can you hate them?

A friend is always good to have
But a lover's kiss is better than angels raining down on me

I wish that i could climb inside your mind
and spend some time in there
and hug and hold you
and mold you into what i'd like
but no i can't do this...

gorgeous lyrics.
i admit they're ok, but its pretty much a love song. What i hate is that it's a love song you can't sing to anyone.
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves,
dreaming of things we might have been.

Such a beautiful song, maybe the lyrics may not be the best to sing to a girl, but this song is telling us about something real and what is on dave's mind. Just awesome, and the rhythm is great too.

Why must you sing TO someone...sing FOR them. It's a beautiful song, and the lack of set lyrics makes it even that much better.

Once I heard this song, I knew I had to learn it asap, as well. It wasn't that hard...the most difficult thing I can remember was just getting the pattern. But as with anything dave, keep your hands moving...it'll come to ya. And also, as mentioned, the first three bass notes are KEY!

I normally play it like something like this:

Code: Select all

e:-----------------------------------------------
B:-----1-1-----1-1------1-1-x-x--------------------------
G:-----0-0-----0-0------0-0-x-x--------------------------
D:-----2-2-----2-2------2-2-x-x--------------------------
A:--3--------2--------------------------------------
E:---------------------1---------x-----------------
But I hear something like this on Yoshi...this sounds great when you can mute well.

Code: Select all

e:-----------------------------------------------
B:------------------------------1-1-x-x--------------------------
G:------------------------------0-0-x-x--------------------------
D:------------------------------2-2-x-x--------------------------
A:--3-3-3-3----2-2-2-2-----------------------------------
E:----------------------------1------------------
:)

I think of it like this

Singing a love song FOR someone of the same sex can be taken quite different then singing it TO them
