not possible, its almost all i listen to and i haven't and won't get tired of dave
you can and most likely will

you don't know me...
if you really think you are gonna listen to nothing but dave forever, i feel sorry for you because you are missing out on a world of better music
theres a big difference between 'all i listen to,' and me 'missing out.' i play other stuff (marching band, jazz band) but i listen to dave mostly

I really feel like pujing, cause I got the flu. I sucks man....I cant feel my feet and my hands are stone cold. no guitar for today. Besides, if you ever drum while you are sick, its sucks major ass. I usually just stop in the middle of a song.

i know you'll think im a dick for this, but you wont get very good at guitar if all you LISTEN to is dave. getting better at guitar depends a lot upon what you listen to

playing a lot of anything will get you good at something, maybe not everything, but i play lots and lots of dave, and i think i've at least learned alot about improv from doing so. if i didn't play dave, i don't know if i'd still be playin bass... because i get bored trying to figure theory out for myself. i think i'll just have fun playin other peoples songs and pickin up some of their technique along the way in the mean time. i'm gettin bass lessons for a christmas present though, so that'll probly up my theory knowledge. :)

EDIT: but you've got a point fatjack, i would probly never have gone anywhere near slapping if i didn't listen to the flecktones and the redhot chili peppers.

I have to second that. Dave's style is unique, but there are tons of other styles you should go and learn

you guys are missing the point, its not about playing just dave, its about just LISTENING to him. you learn so much by just listening to different types of music

Yes because music makes everything look better. Movies always seem cooler than real life. Why? Soundtracks. :D

there is absolutely nothing wrong with listening to him more than anything else, its just that since this is a board filled with people who play guitar, im just trying to give advice on how to better yourself as a musician

lol. fatjack, you are right. last month literally all i listened to was dave. well except i substituted a little coldplay, oasis, simon and garfunkel, and eric clapton in at times. and i know that what i did wasn't very good, but like you said, its not a bad thing either. he enjoys listening to dave matthews. i have to agree with him. but fatjacks right about the guitar aspect of it. dave is not a fantsastic guitarist. yea he can write nice songs, great lyrics, keep a bad ass rhythm, but branch out and see how these other guys do it. *cough* ERIC CLAPTON *cough* wow....flu season. haha
