"Wise Men Say" Outro

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

"Wise Men Say" Outro

Unread post by 2stepingJ » Mon Nov 10, 2003 7:33 pm

... I've searched for this, so don't burn me alive if it's already been posted... but during "The Stone"'s 'wise men say' outro, is Dave playing the 'end of jam variation' or the 'chorus jam' (as seen on the tab),... or is there a different pattern or an extra chord to this little riff? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

peace,
Jake

He's just playing the chorus. Over and over.

I think the strumming is kinda slowing down, but the chords are the same as in the chorus...

The stumming pattern doesnt even change that much...youre just hearing tim playing different stuff than he does in the chorus.

Why is it called wise men say?
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

cause that's what he sings. i think the song is called I Can't Help (Falling in Love w/ You). i guess since he starts w/ wise men say that's what everyone calls it.

I know about the can't help falling in love interpolation, because he's played it frequently this summer.

when dave sings it he sings,
"Wise men say, only fools fall in love, but i can't help, falling in love with you"

so people call it wise men.

I play it this way

Code: Select all

E:-----------------------------------------------------------------
B:-----------------------------------------------------------------
G:---------------------------------------5----5---5----5-----5--5--
D:---10----10--10-----10-----10--10-----------x---x----------x--x--
A:-8----8--8---8----7----7----7---7----5---5--5---5---3--3---3--3/-
E:-----------------------------------------------------------------
then repeat

The tab may be messed up, and you have to figure out the strumming on your own, but good luck.

The end of the stone is brilliant. I wish the ending on BTCS went on much longer. With the strings and all........ Ahhh. Even when dave plays it solo or with timmy it sounds sooooooo sweet. I don't know if I've heard a prettier riff. So simple, so sleepy, so full of hope and happiness.....
Sonmetimes I would try to catch her, but I never even caught her name.....
