topic for only one purpose

I'm new here, obviously, but i wonder...does DMB know another artist is using their name? I was a good little DMB fan, went and bought the cd...only to find it's hardly DMB. Towards the very end of the album you see a spark of the bands old self, but otherwise it's not even close to what i've come to expect. It's a good cd, i'll be listening to it for a long time, but it's going to take some getting used to...it's not what i was hoping for

Most people share your views. Including me.

I would like them to be creative and work new styles into their music, but it seems like they are unable to do that.
On the other hand, why fix what has made them one of the most famous touring bands ever? I really think they need to stick to their organic, guitar riff driven, style of music.

just out of curiosity, what are you guys basing your "grading standard" off of? i'm stacking this album up to BTCS and UTTAD, obviously, it doesn't reach it..but, it's DMB, so it's good, but i really hope next album is like those 2..

I base my oppinions on whether or not I like the album...I don't base it on previous albums...but I'll just say...if I hadn't heard of DMB before this album, and someone said "listen to this cd" I wouldn't give DMB a second try. :? ....commence with the "fuck you" statements...that is my oppinion...I like SOME DEVIL about 50x more than I like this one.

god how many more times are we going to bring this up... the point of stand up was to do something that didnt sound like the old stuff, something different that they would have fun doing (and that is exactly what they did.)... Stop rummaging around in the fridge for pepsi when mom has told you ten times she bought coke.

Yeah I pretty much agree with you. I do like a few of the songs though and I'm glad they were added to the DMB catalogue but shit like Dreamgirl, Stand Up, Wake Up, Old dirt hill, and louisiana bayou I hate. Maybe I haven't listened to it enough though.

I think that this is someone who posts here, but created the name just for this thread.

I don't think it's the best thing ever but I like more than a few songs. I like the whole thing, really, but not to where I'd say "Good, but not what I expected." So I have to say "E - Damn good album"

Eh, that poll needs to be revised. I think it's great but not the greatest thing ever. And "good but not what I expected" doesn't cover it because after Everyday nothing was what I expected so I just stopped expecting. Life was easier after that...

It's a damn fine album is what it is.
If you want to be the popular one at a party, here's a good thing to do: Go up to some people who are talking and laughing and say, "Well, technically that's illegal." It might fit in with what somebody just said. And even if it doesn't, so what, I hate this stupid party.
