Amp advice....
Amp advice....
Hey, im trying to decide for a new amp to get. I'm looking for loud enough to play without a mic a gigs and one that has great sound. The top three on my list are Vox, Marshall, and Fender. Just wondering if any out there have any experience and advice I could get. I'm not looking for a stack and i want to spend less that $1000 if i can. 8)

go for a marshall tube amp. theyre the best. the others are good, but nothing matches the tone of a marshall. i own a marshall myself.

Fender '65 Twin Reverb Reissue or Fender Super Reverb Reissue...if you're a rocker, get the twin, if you do more blues jazz, get the super. both will cover fine for both, but each is a little better for said styles.

for marshalls, to get the best tone you have to turn the amp volume up AT LEAST half way. if youre going to play at a gig you should probably get say... a 30 watt tube. thats pretty close to the volume of a 60 watt solid state but a better tone.. i have a 15 watt solid state that has a great tone. you should really just go and try some out.

I am jealous, I still play with my beginner fender amp = (. And after 8 years ir is messed up and I need to get the chord in just the right place so I don't get any buzz, which gets messed up the first time I use vibrato while soloing.

yeah i have my beginning fender also, its pretty bad. i dont use it much though, as of now im on a Fender MX80, which they dont make anymore i think. its really awesome and his great overdrive and reverb. i really like it but i still want another one. lol it sounds ok but some vox's and marshall's i've played make my strat sound much better. 8)

lol. that was pretty funny. i think this calls for contraptions that we've rigged up to suit our needs.
hmm...
mine would have to be my old laptop which weighs about 20 pounds.
the ac adaptor wouldn't work unless you held it in at a certain angle, so my contraption wound up being my history book (which i never read), a rubber band, a pen, and the cap to a sprite bottle.

Important Message: Hi.
yeah, i have this old ass Atari that only works when all the other electrical appliances in the room are off except for the tv. its really weird and eventually stopped altogether lol.
For more mcgyver guitar stuff, i dont have a mic so once i tried taking some voice recorder and hooking it up to my comp with the out cable from it going to my mic thing on my comp. it was really crappy and picked up almost no sound so i took one of those paper funnels to try to put it around the mic to try to pic up more sound. it didnt work. lol so, so much for things that work. anyways... 8)
