Is John Mayer a better guitar player than Dave Matthews?

john mayer is a tool but he smokes dave any day of the week musically. dave doesn't hold a candle to john's talent...it's not even close. they're both moronic people too...john just talks about his penis in interviews while dave prefers to babble senselessly like a moron. anyways, john mayer is about a thousand times better guitarist than matthews, and if anyone honestly disagree's, well, you should kill yourself because you worship the most overrated musician in history.

John and Dave are different styles..... Dave can't play like john, and john can't play like dave.

I also read somewhere I while back that dave hate's guitar solo's because they're just an ego boost for the guitarist.....but then again...Tim..hmm, dunno.

Anyway, I just think that if dave really wanted to rip it up, he could.

Oh and as for the comment about strumming being easier then soloing... depends how you strum. There is a lot of diferent ways to strum, watch an acoustic Tim show and you'll see what I mean.

no, dave just really does suck. if he could do more, why wouldn't he do it!?!?! hello?!! JIMI THING SOLO?!?! yeah, he doesn't want to show us that he can solo when he takes a solo...that makes a boatload of sense, quit music now.

If you think Mayer couldnt play circles around Dave, (In terms of sheer skill on the guitar) you're a moron, plain and simple, and you need to listen to more music.
