- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

you are an idiot. I would say I see more "metal heads" playing Jackson's Ibanez's and GIbson's... not to say that i haven't seen fenders. But I have also seen SRV, Clapton, and many other famous artists play some pretty nice guitar on some stratocasters that I definatley wouldn't consider metal. You should be more concerned about helping someone out and making sure it is clear that what you say is your opinion. You look like an idiot making such broad statements that can be easily refuted. Oh, and in my opinion, are not only has 2 more keys to type than arent. Try it!kcw wrote:Try a Gibson ES-137.
And unless your a metal head fenders arent the way to go.

Honestly, if it's an adequate guitar...it's going to sound pretty good. And to get your own sound..it'll really depend on the amp, and maybe certain pedals you get. If you're going for a Tim Reynolds sound...just get a Les Paul. They're nice...but pretty heavy.
Also, I wouldn't get a fender. I'd get a G&L Legacy if I was going for a Strat-like guitar. Pure perfection.
