I'm looking for an even cheaper banger (less than $100), to take to the beach or camping ... something where I wouldn't mind if it got full of sand or scratched to shit.
I realize the sound quality will suck, but what do you all think the best I can do is? I've seen some ridiculously cheap stuff on the web (like $49, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=g ... id/519266/), but am I gonna be sent a cardboard box with strings?
I don't think I'll find trash like this at GC, so where else can I go?

the cheapest Alvarez I've ever seen is still $100-$200.
the problem is that the last time I was at the beach with a guitar, it came back with sand in the body, scratches up and down the back and front and tuners that were shot.
so I'm thinking of a guitar that's playable and actually sounds like a guitar (granted, a shitty guitar), but that I could use for firewood if it got too cold.
those Rogues I mentioned claim to have spruce tops and rosewood fingerboards, and they're $49. Maybe they fell off a truck or were made in Pakistan by starving children.

What else could they have? I mean, wood is the main ingredient when baking a guitar.max wrote:the cheapest Alvarez I've ever seen is still $100-$200.

I'm going to pick up an RD20s with a hard shell travel case for $120 after work. excited for a cheap new toy.shane wrote:you got ripped off... i paid $200 for a new RD20S.. i had an RD8 for a day, but i returned it. paid $140 for that.NJPearce22 wrote:Alvarez RD-8!
