not guitars, but humidifiers, strings, capos, etc. the owner is VERY nice. you won't find better customer service anywhere. i can email them and ask them gear questions, or drop a personal note to see how they're doing, and I always hear back promptly. they've got a real good thing going over there.

i also bought a very nice amp from them. so it's not like i've only made tiny purchases there.

they have free stuff offers where if you buy one thing, sometimes there's a freebee attached. once i ordered a set of strings that came with my favorite capo as a freebie. my old capo had just broken, so i was looking forward to getting the new one along with the strings. when i got the string order, the capo wasn't included. i emailed them saying that the strings got in ok, but that the capo wasn't included. i said that i wasn't really complaining, as it's hard to whine about something they're giving away, but that if that offer of the free capo was still on, i'd really appreciate it if they could mail it to me. the owner emailed right back and apologized, and a few days later, i got not one, but two free capos, both of which normally go for around $18. all that because of a silly little set of strings.

i have complete and total confidence in them, their merchandise, and their commitment to their customers.

Here you go, Shane, from samusic's "about us" page:

"Satisfaction Guarantee - This one's easy. If you don't like it, send it back within 10 days, and we'll refund your money. We'll even cover the return shipping, and we won't charge you any "restocking" fees (how hard can be it be to put something back on a shelf?). Have you ever installed a pickup, only to find out it just doesn't work in your guitar? Well, Shoreline is the only major retailer to guarantee installed pickups. Put it in and try it out for a few days--if you don't like it, we'll either refund your money or let you try a different one. Of course, this guarantee doesn't just count for inexpensive items like pickups and tuners. It covers every guitar we sell, including Used guitars, Dutch Auction guitars, new guitars--even custom guitars. Yes, you read that right. Every custom-built guitar we sell is covered by our 10-day trial and money-back guarantee. If you've just spent $3000 on your dream guitar, you want it to be great. We want it to be great. But if you're not happy for whatever reason, send it back. We'll pick up the shipping and refund your cost. All we ask is that you treat it nicely in the interim."

also, shipping is free, and they ship their guitars overnight!:

"Shipping - Here's our shipping policy: Anywhere in the US, for any product you buy from us, shipping is free. Customers keep asking us if our free shipping is some sort of promotion or special offer. Well, it is indeed special--it's almost impossible to find free shipping on the web anymore--but this is our standard, everyday policy. No coupons, no promo codes. Just free shipping. Even for heavy stuff. Our standard shipping method is US Priority Mail, although guitars get shipped overnight with USPS Express Mail, and Utrasound amps typically go UPS ground. For international orders, additional shipping fees apply, but they're pretty straightforward:"

I'm telling you, if you're going to drop more than $1500 on a guitar, you really need to look past the Martin/Taylor thing, because there are actual handmade guitars out there that are much better quality for your money, most of them coming from small luthier shops like Lakewood. I wish I had known about this stuff when I bought my guitar, because as much as I love my Taylor (and I really do LOVE it) I know that I could have gotten better for the money.
