I broke/dislocated my middle finger on my left hand and wont be able to play guitar for 5/6 weeks.....

Damn my friend I feel your pain how'd you do it? I hope you get better soon and be able to play again you might need some rehab dont be affraid to ask. Good luck

playin bball, im getting surgery tomorrow (pins put in to hold the joint in place). and yes, i will have to have rehab, sucks.

That's rough...i had a tough enough time when i went i vacation and couldn't bring my guitar, that was only for a week...my sympathies go out to you.

Hmm.. if that happend to me I would just try and work on my vocals for the 5 or 6 weeks, god knows i could use it. Thats just the bright side. It would suck to not play the guitar for that long. I've gone a week without it a few times and it sucks.

how do you do rehab with your finger?? lol it'd be funny to be like counting finger raises...1...2. sorry sorry, maybe you can work on strumming of fingerpicking.

damn, that is horrible.
the longest i've gone without playing guitar for the past couple of years is 4 days this past weekend.
my sympathy goes out to you.

if you have a metal split put on it maybe you could use it as a slide, haha

Sorry to hear about your finger. I had some nerve damage to my pinky on my left hand where I lost ALL feeling in it for about 2 - 3 months. Sucked really bad because my pinky could not "feel" where it was fretting. Good new was that it fully healed and I was back in the saddle in no time.
I hope that is your outcome as well!

Sorry dude, that's rough. The funny thing is, is that I was actually thinking about this earlier today. I stubbed my left middle finger and it caused a huge blood blyster. It hurts like hell when playing, but then I thought, "well, at least none of my fingers are broke!" I'm truely sorry man, I don't know what I'd do, except not play guitar. Heal fast.
