It's not so much what the song is about...just the dynamics behind it..the chord changes and the vocal range....w/out the whole point of the song..certain phrases really jump out...."look at how she listens"...."there's an emptyness inside her and she'll do anything to fit it in..." and if you really had a good voice like a bono type range you could really hit that last chorus....

I really like the Lillywhite version better though...but that's just me... :)

yess!
that's it!
that's why I love certain songs...because phrases JUMP OUT at you, and you take your own meaning and it becomes so much better.

Songs to sing to your ex (as soon as you're broken up):
3 Doors Down - Here Without You
Eric Clapton - Bell Bottom Blues
Eric Clapton - Leila (my ex's name :? )
The Calling - Could It Be Any Harder
all surefire ways to get her back, albeit temporarily
Halloween  :try NOT to sing this to her, you WILL freak her out! A fun alternative is singing it while driving at 150mph, with a minimum of 10 shots in your system (risky, but fun as hell :P )

Songs for current GF:
Crush (mos def!)
I'll Back You Up
Edwin McCain - I'll Be
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
Lifehouse - Everything

I really could go on forever.. Temporary memory loss due to new year's eve :P Will add some more later if neccesary

I'm not saying I don't like it cause I do and it's a great song, but isn't Crash a song from the point of view of a stalker. Not a bad stalker, but the girl has a boyfriend of some sort, and the narrator of the song is essentially stalking. Just my take. Someone wanted Clapton songs and no one mentioned "Wonderful Tonight."

Thanks for the reminder... :D
Anyone reading this who isn't really into EC, I STRONGLY suggest picking up the 2002 DVD "One More Car, One More Rider". Even if you don't like Clapton, you have to at least appreciate his guitar wizardry :D
