I only recently decided to torrent this compilation. If anyone wants the sources I used for each version I can update the text with them, but this will take some time for me to put it all together. Be sure that they are all lossless files, and the only editing has been for fade-ins and fade-outs unless otherwise noted. I hope you all enjoy.
This compilation was produced and assembled by Doug Bobrow on 8/01/05 to represent the longevity and variety displayed by the Dave Matthews Band. The compilation is a Best Of 250 concerts performed by the band between the years of 1992 and 2005. So what makes it unique? The songs are direct pulls off the soundboard. Those that were performed after 1995 were not pulled from the soundboard but are the direct (100%) copies of the audio files edited by tapers who went to the concerts and recorded the shows with taping equipment. Many of the songs are unique performances, including different lyrics, special speeches and intros. Some are the first, second or even only performances ever or the respective songs. Some of these songs may be circulating on sites like Limewire and Kazaa, but those have been converted into MP3 over many generations and are almost guaranteed to be of lesser quality. The sound and quality of these files is the best it can possibly be. No audio data has been lost between the band playing the music, it being recorded by tapers and it being burned onto these 8 CDs. How? Through digital editing and converting in ¡§lossless¡¨ audio formats such as FLAC and SHN. Therefore, I have compiled the best sounding songs that you have never heard. The band sounds better live (or course) so I brought it to you that way. DO NOT PUT THESE ON YOUR IPOD. Doing so will compress the files to MP3 and destroy the wavelengths on which some sound is stored. Putting the files on an IPOD or MP3 player for convenience will destroy the quality of these recordings and compromise your listening experience. Simply place the CD into a CD Player.
