10/24/02 DVD Tree -- SURVAY Leafs pease read

Unread post by willndmb » Sun Jun 01, 2003 7:20 am

just wondering what everyone thought of the tree?
we had lots of branches and lots of leafs
this is the easiest way for me to see how things went/are going

please rate the tree honestly, feel free to leave a comment
rate based on sign ups
set up
branch friendlyness/helpfullness if you needed anything
speed of the return
whatever else you think might be good or bad LMK so we can keep dvd trees going fast and smooth for everyone

if you give it below 5 please explain what needs to be done to make it better

I thought this tree ran great!! Just like the others. My branch kept me informed as to the status of my discs and I am more than happy with the quality!!

Thanks to all those involved!!

I gave it a 5. The DVD itself was great, great audio, video menu, everything. But the process kind of upset me a little. I was happy to get the DVD and grateful someone would do it for me but I started to lose patience after a while. I just got it a week ago yesterday. I worte my branch a week ago Thursday because I hadnt heard anything from him the whole time. I know he was probably busy with the whole thing but I know if I am ever a branch (Im getting a DVD burner in a few weeks) for a show I would probably have the persons DVD in the mail either the day after I received it or the following day. All you have to do is pop a disc in and walk away for a half hour or whatever. So thats my only criticism of the last Tree, I was very eager for the show and it didnt come as soon as Id hoped, but it was still worth the wait. It was an amazing DVD and Im really glad I was able to get a copy of it. Maybe I shouldnt of voted a 5, but it wasnt a 10, the DVD was a 10 but the whole process was like a 6 or 7 I guess. By the way please post back here to let us know if youre dong any more branches, Id really like to help on the next one.

I don't have mine in hand, yet. I'm emailing him tomorrow to find out what's going on. My only criticism was that my branch thought it would cost him over $4 US to send 2 discs to Canada and we kinda had a little tiff about it.

But it's great that these DVDs are being done and it's awesome that people are branching for us! Keep up the great work guys and thanks!

thats easy, it was a 10. rob (phoenix44) was an excellent branch. it would have been an 11 if there was a canadian branch though.

i like communication myself

there will be more trees and i will keep you in mind for them
if you like email me with "new Branch" in the title and i will keep you with others that would like to start helping out whwillie@yahoo.com

i will tell you now though--burning isn't as easy as you seem to think
99.9% send you 1x discs, so the typical B+P for 1 person takes over 2 hrs to complete
and some burners when the disc is done ejects it--i personally will not ever leave a disc to burn that i will not be home for because i don't want to go away and have the drive sitting open for who knows how long--so for some that feel that way it will take a little longer to burn
i appreciate your input though and will ask branches to be sure to keep contact with leafs in the future

Couple things, Rob IS the man, he hooked me with my first DVD BnP when I got my burner.

I figured I would offer a branches point of view. I dont as a matter of practice email leaves to let them know their discs are here or to let them know that they are on their way back. I think doing that only slows down the process of getting them burned and back on their way. I have a turnaround time of 1-2 days unless its a weekend or I am out of town on business. As far as leaves following directions, I have had mixed results. I keep records of who follows directions and when they are looking I will help them again. I always ask people to read the http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp link and follow these directions exactly. I still get money instead of stamps (for my friends up north this is OK, eh!). metered postage, reused mailers (my pet peeve), no return address etc. A note to those that care, I have also adopted a practice where I dont allow address changes; this prevents unscrupulous people from trying to redirect BNP packages given that the trees are often public info (all the email addresses).

As far as the trees themselves, Will does a heck of a job putting everything together and making sure that all leaves get taken care of.

Thanks
Jay

Thanks for keeping me in mind, Ill e-mail you shortly. The reason I said I would have them out in a day or two is because unless its the weekend I work from 7:00 to 3:30 so I would be home all day to do the burning. Im still happy with my branch for doing it for me but if you sign up to be a branch you should be able to know that you can get the package out within 3 or 4 days of receiving it I would think. Maybe Im wrong because I am yet to do it but thats just my assumption. Anyways, I have it now and once again thanks for the tree to begin with and thanks to my branch for doing the b&p.

If you do another tree of some new DVDs I could probably be a branch. I've got a DVD+R/+RW drive if that matters. Let me know if you need my help.

This was my 1st B&P experience of any kind so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I would have to give it a 10 in all aspects.

A post was put up in advance notifying everyone to look for the upcomming leaf sign-up thread (very much appreciated willndmb!)...this way one knew that they needed to pay particular attention to the boards so they wouldn't miss out.

My branch (M. Reaser) was just awesome...quickly got in touch with me telling me he was my tree in this B&P and what he expected from my end...and emailed me when he sent the package back to me.

I got my B&P back in about 7 days from the day I sent it to him which is unbelievable IMHO.

Lastly, willndmb, you posted this B&P on DMBTabs.com boards which for sure gave the site widespread exposure...this site is the best DMB guitar site out there and it deserves as much exposure as possible...thank you so much for helping with that (I think...you would have to check with jkanter to see if he agrees on the exposure part).

Thanks Will, I'm looking forward to the next tree you do...can't wait.
