The 1st half of this is to show people how to register to Dreaming Tree.org, if you don't have a problem with this move on to the next half if you are having trouble using an actual torrent program.
How to register to http://www.dreamingtree.org
The first few steps are pretty self explanatory.

Don't forget to click the boxes at the bottom.

After you complete this step you will receive an email that will activate your account, so enter an email address that you actually use.

Just open the email, and then follow the link within the email.

When you get to this screen, you should be automatically logged in, and are now able to browse the torrents that are on dreamingtree.org

The next half begins to get more into how to make the torrent work.
The first step is to go obtain a torrent client if you don't currently have one. There are plenty of torrent clients available. Personally, I use Azureus, but the principles behind how to get the torrents to work don't vary much from client to client.
A list of popular torrent clients:
Click here for a large list of Bit Torrent Clients and Comparisons Between Them
Click on any of the links on the page above to download the torrent client you wish to choose.
After you have obtained a torrent client from the list above, follow the following steps.
If you were/are interested in downloading the 10-27-06 show, you would go to dreamingtree.org and click on the link that will take you to the page with the info about that torrent.

Many of the sites that are out there, that provide space, to distribute torrent files, will have a link to click on. On this page (like many) the link will be near the top of the page.

After you click on the link, you will be asked if you want to save the torrent file. This file will put you onto the tracker which connects you to all of the other users distributing the file(s) that you are interested in obtaining.

Now choose where you want to save the torrent file.
*NOTE: This file will not be big, as it is only the file to connect you to the tracker, not the actual file(s) you are looking to obtain.*

Once you have downloaded the torrent file you will want to click on it, to attempt to connect to the tracker. This can be done in 3 ways.
1) The first way is to open the file immediately after it has been downloaded in firefox it looks like #1 in the picture below. In Internet Explorer, it will be the box that pops up when the download starts, you would just click open.
2) The second way, would be to use windows explorer or some other method to go to the location where you saved the torrent file. When you find it double click on it to open it.

*Both of these methods should open up the torrent client*
3) The third option would be to open the bit torrent client itself, then open the torrent file.

Now you should be prompted as to where you want to save the files that the actual torrent file is associated with.
Example: If you were downloading the 10-27-06 Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds show, this is where the entire show would be after the torrent was completed.
The time it takes for a torrent to complete depends on size, fellow seeders, and your individual connection speeds.

***Jayme made a thread, that had to do with port forwarding and some other basics that are helpful once you get the hang of what you are doing with torrents.***
