Ok...on monday I will be getting my very own copy (vhs) of my schools Battle of the Bands...can any of you trading/B&P'ers tell me how I could take a VHS and get the video onto my computer, then possibly to a Windows Video File???
If I can, I will put some on my site, and if anyone is interested at that pouint, I could share the file via AIM...
In any case, any help would be appreciated

I've never really put videos on my computer , but you either need a video card with a input port or an capture card which is made for that stuff ....
Jkanter where are you when we need you

there is probably someone out there who could do it for you, for a price of course. Check the yellow pages, sometimes I find the randomist things in there but you have to think that other people have the same problem you have so that creates a market and before our generation the phone book was the first place people looked.

What you are looking to do will not be easy, especially if you have no piror experience capturing analog video. It took me over a year to get my capture card working decently, they are a pain in the ass.
The whole webcam thing with the tv would look terrible. Plus the resolution would not be high enough to do anything with.
If you do want to get the video to your computer, then you will have to go through an analog video capture card. So unless you know a bunch about capturing analog video, its probably dead in the water. Sorry, not to be mean, I'm just being realistic. If you did want to spend hours and hours learning how to do it, I would be more than willing to point you in the right direction. Ask me anything else that you want to also, I will answer you.

A year ???? I know a guy who don't have anything to do with computers , he just hooked his up and used Adobe Premiere to edit and such .... He said it wasen't problematic .. Of course i can't test it myself as i don't know where my capture card is , and i've never done it b4 , but i would assume he is right about the ease in hooking it up

It did take me a year to get my capture card working properly, probably because it is an ATI ( I will never buy ATI again because of it). From what I have read, most analog caputer cards are not that easy to get working, but maybe your friend got lucky and it worked out for him. I wish it was that easy for me.
If you can get it done for 30 bucks, sweet. I really hope it works out for you. I would love to see some results. Were you thinking you wanted to go vcd or svcd?
