so what if i want to make a soundboard recording or taping? has anyone else done this? what kind of equipment is involved? how is it hooked up? what kind of software do i need to create the lossless sound files?

When I play my weekly gig at the Warehouse, I bring my laptop, open cool edit and give it to the sound guy. He plugs my laptop into the soundboard, and hits record on cool edit and walla. I dont know exactly where he plugs it in though.

how would you go about taping somthing like a show with just a lap top and a program?

well, I know he uses my 1/4 to 1/8 converter. You can get one at radioshack for like 2 bucks. I dont know where on the soundboard the guy plugs it in though.
