DVD/CD Media Deals

Unread post by Matty Boom » Sun May 16, 2004 11:58 am

I saw this thread over at STG and thought it was a very good idea. We can all look out for each other and hopefully get more people available to trade with something like this. So, please post the good DVD and CD deals that you find.

Here's a link to the thread over at STG ~

k guys heres the deal NEVER EVER BUY +R. they dont work but on like 30% of stuff, and only in a few burners, -R works in like 80% of stuff and in most all burners. trust me, i do this for a living.

unless your burner only burns +R

not to be the ass because my burner is -R and so that's my preference, but certainly do not stop buying +R if you can only burn +R

I'm not sure where you are getting your information from. I did a simple search at http://www.dvdrhelp.com for DVD players that supported +R format....I came up with 2033 different stand alone DVD players that will play +R disks. That is a far cry from being "rare". I have traded +R formated disks with people all over the United States and in 6 different foreign countries.....All have reported back to me that there are no problems.

I believe the +R compatibility ratio is 68%, while the -R compatibility ratio is 73%.

Hey all,

the + and - as I understand it are specifically indicitive to what your burner supports, rather than your DVD player.

If you have a compUSA nearby they have there brand (Ritek, I think) and they are consistently the cheapest that I have found. I have bought them on sale for .50 a piece & 1.00 when they are not.

They also have 50 packs of PNY CD-R's for 99 cents at best buy.com you can seriously just order one or two for 99 cents a piece and tax and theyll send it free shipping. they might not be the best quality but I have like 30+ shows I need to get off my computer and I think they should be fine for that

I took the liberty of deleting the outdated posts of deals in an effort to cut down on the reading. I kept up all other posts that delt with media compatiblity though to be respectful to the people who posted them.
