burning dvds for dvd players

hey everyone, i just got my dvd burner and i want to put all the dvds that i dl'ed from torrents onto dvds so i can save space on the hard drive...anyway, i know if i want to play them on teh computer in the future i can just burn it as a data disk and open the files individually, but how do i burn the dvd so that i can play it in a regular dvd player hooked up to a tv?...sry if this is the wrong forum, didnt know where to put it...i have the Sonic Record Now software that comes with Dell computers... any help appreciated, thanks..oh i also have sonic MyDVD, but when i try to use that i cant figure out how to get the dvd files on there...

Would have to depend on the DVD player. We got a new one becuase my brother had some VCD's that wouldn't work on the old one (now my own). But i'm too ignorant to help you out on that.
