first time trying to burn a dvd
i am trying to burn a dvd with roxio, I have brand new discs (Fuji) just opened and the burner program is telling me the discs arent compatible for the meida. I downloaded a show off of sharingthegroove.org and i was curious if i had to convert it to something else or should i be able to just drop the folder in and burn it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yep, sorry buddy, also if I were you, if its not too late Id think about exchanging that burner for a DVD-R or when that accepts both, I think sony has a dual drive one for like $150. From what I hear DVD-R seems to be the way that everyone is going to go, one of the formats is gonna be like faded out prolly and as of now DVD+R is on the way out I thinkwkpggrvn2001 wrote:its a dvd+rw and i have dvd-r, i guess im screwed

No, theyre 2 completely differnet formats, its apples and oranges. And like I said, Im pretty sure the DVD-R/W's are gonna be the prevailing format in the next year or so. So if its still possible, Id return that drive and get a DVD-R/W one or one that can burn and read DVD-R/W & DVD+R/Wwkpggrvn2001 wrote:there isnt a way to convert dvd-r's to dvd+r?

Oh, well just try and return the discs then. Dont worry about a new burner till it gets to the point where DVD+R's arent very popular anymore, by that time youll be able to get one really cheap. And just make sure any DVD player you buy is compatible with both. I wouldnt worry about a new burner anytime soon until you think its necessary, just get new discs and make sure anything you buy is compatible with both. Its not real urgent or anything, I just think the industry is on their way away from +R and on to -R. But dont fret now or go out and spend money you dont have to until you feel you have towkpggrvn2001 wrote:shit, shit, shit... I dont think I can the burner came with the computer, so i guess im going to have to purchase another one
