Dreams of Our Fathers

Unread post by Bartender2424 » Thu Oct 16, 2003 9:58 pm

For some reason, I want to hear this song played live. Yes it is on everyday and yes everyday = bad live songs, but its never been play and in my opinion the most upbeat and fun song on the whole album. Hopefully one day will decide to bust it out in a show.

What do you guys think about Dreams of our Fathers?

Really, when? Because I loved to even hear a little of it.

The bass for that song is fun to play also and easy to improvise too. Just wanna hear that live!

That sucks, such a good song. I bet it would be pretty decent live.

He could always change the lyrics to slower lyrics and play it live.. it wouldn't be the same, but it'd still kick ass

Im saying if he could sing it and play it like he does on the album itd be pretty sick. You could have some sick sax or eletric guitar slos up in that song.

They played it live at the gorge this year, and there wasn't a dry eye along the Columbia river by the time Leroi got to the pennywhistle solo. Mine included. It could have used timmy, but that was not much of a handicap. The gorge was where I really fell in love with that song.

Ive always loved Dreaming Tree, it is one of those songs I hafta hear before I die. I was really excited that I might hear it this year because of its recent increase in live performances, but the Meadows shows didnt show any highlights of the new tour. No Dreaming Tree, No Last Stop, No Spoon, No Maker, none of that. So I was kinda dissapointed, but Im sure I will get to hear it live....atleast I hope! :?

That sucks. Spoon is another song that has this incredible power when played live. The air is filled with electricity when he pounds out that first Em chord and never lets up. I missed the second gorge show where the last stop was played in the encore. F*** it all!!!

Atleast you got to hear any of them. The only somewhat rare and classic song I got to hear at my concert was Help Myself, which isnt dissapointing but one of those rare BTCS songs would have been pie. Just have to weel to MSG comes around next year...hopefully.

I don't like Help Myself. Its a corny tune. Unlike his good quality songs, which come from inside, the song sounds forced, as if he had to write a song by the next day or else.
