The Maker - Jean Baptiste

Unread post by bakemm » Mon Sep 29, 2003 9:56 pm

Jean Baptiste? Who are we talking about here?

I've always thought he was meaning John Baptist considering the lyrics of the song. But tonight I just read the lyrics listed on this site, and read Jean Baptiste.

Are we talking about that same Jean-Baptiste that proposed an addition to evolutionary theory?

I would appreciate any info on this, thanks.

The Maker was written by Daniel Lanois. A french canadian singer/songwriter, producer. He was refering to John Baptist or in french, Jean Baptiste. The Maker was a song in his 1989 album, Acadie. He often mixed english and french in his songs.
"Thank you everybody so much again for tonight. We hope you had a good time with us. We're kind of relaxed and y'all hopefully y'all relaxed too. This is beautiful humidity. We enjoy it and everybody take care of yourselfs. Muaha..." DM

Wow, thanks a whole bunch.

Ive been keeping an eye on Lanois for a while. The man produced U2, Dylan, and Dave loves him. Not to mention he produced the greatest album ever made in Joshua Tree.

I didnt catch on that Jean Baptiste would be french. Thanks for the help.
