what i want to know is on live in chicago during the jam after last stop, is tim tremelo picking that fast stuff in the background or is that extreme delay? im thinking delay

The solo is slowed down at 25% (same pitch).

Description: "A really interesting sound played at sonic speeds. It is a simple F# major pentatonic (with extra notes at times), but how exactly it is produced is unknown to me! I used to think it was just picked and fingered very fast, but upon slowing it down, the notes are clearly sliding a lot more than is possible with simple fingering. Perhaps he is using a slide, but that is just insane (but does explain the high parts in the same song). Perhaps a combination?"
