This. I'm also not a fan of the children singing thing, though it doesn't detract majorly. overall, I like it.

i'm not really a fan. i like it in the sense that it 'feels' a little more like dmb than the past few albums (lillywhite influence?), but the song itself is just ok to me.

"we gotta do much more than believe, if we really wanna change things"

jesus christ. "american baby" had better lyrics. i saw bense nutting about this on twitter and got excited, but this is lame to me. /curmudgeon

the lyrics really are fucking atrocious, the bridge with the man on the moon line is especially awful. It's too bad because the music is actually pretty decent.

I thought it was really interesting rhythmically.

I like this song. It doesn't have the lyrical depth of classic DMB, but I don't expect Dave as a 45-year-old father to be thinking and writing about the same things he was in his twenties.

Yeah of course we can't expect him to write about the same stuff as he did back in the day, but that doesn't mean the quality of what he writes needs to fall by the wayside as well. He's way too literal and in your face now, there is no symbolism or metaphors in his writing, it's just so straight forward and preachy.

That's true. I don't think it's in your face so much as it's cheesy, but oh well.
