Fine...
Yeah, I was just trying to tick people off for laughs as a side project to eating my dinner last night at 1 in the morning, and it worked out to entertain me for a few minutes, but I do have one serious point to argue that's absolutely driven me nuts lately...DMB is by far the most unprofessional band I have seen!
After attending the 7/2/03 show, it was completely clear to me. I've always wondered this as every other concert I attend is free for the most part of blatant errors and screwups, but 7/2 made it clear...they are just so off! They really don't mix things up that much at all, so there's no reason why they should have as many problems as they do. Counting Crows completely change the way they play some songs some nights and they have ten people in their band and still manage to pull it off flawlessly. DMB is not a tight package at all...everyone is all over the map...members come into their parts late and miss parts altogether (Leroi especially, always walking around in class ADD fashion), hit terrible notes (Boyd), screwing up lyrics, trying to do too much and sounding weird (Stefan)...this is just inexcusable. They make far more mistakes than ANY other band I've seen. Small local acts don't make as many mistakes as they do. Carter is always on, but it's almost goofy in and of itself as he's the only one maintaining consistency...Last Stop was just shady as Carter is keeping a killer groove the whole time and everyone is just screwing up around him. It's pathetic in my opinion and wholly and completely unprofessional. The fact that no one cares is even worse. Some people say that they just enjoy the music and don't overanalyze, but at what point does your judgement become clouded by that philosophy? Some of those songs they play live sound just absolutely terrible by anyone's standards. They're just terrible performances. I don't care if you love or hate DMB, bottom line is that half of what they're playing is complete slop. Sure, some members should take more blame for this than others (Boyd) but they all have a lot of work to do to keep up with Carter in his worst form. Someone argue this, as I want to hear your justifications. I'm being completely serious. If you're going to be a tool, don't bother posting, even though you will. So have at it.

there you go elliot..I have no beef with you, especially when you put up a reasonable arguement...cut the crap and stick with what you think...not what you think will tick others off

I find it funny too...when people try to convert anyone...one way or the other - with anything other than a mature conversation...these kind of posts make this site look like the bridgejpittman wrote:Yeah, quite funny.gcom007 wrote:Yeah, I was just trying to tick people off for laughs as a side project to eating my dinner last night at 1 in the morning, and it worked out to entertain me for a few minutes

well, i go to a concert to see a band/performer who i like perform. if i wanted cd perfection, the only way to get it is to listen to a cd, but potentially/constantly making mistakes is one of the things i love about live music. its all out there. they cant fast forward past a part that they have trouble with. they have to do it. its awesome.
all in all, im way too excited usually to be at a concert to nit pick. i guess i shouldnt say nit pick but too excited to care maybe. goin today though so ill tell everyone how they were. peace. 8)

seriously, what do you want us to do about it? stop listening to them if you dont like them, and let us enjoy them.
also, have you ever heard everclear live? dmb should be considered perfect compared to them. so quit your bellyaching, it could be worse.

do the other bands play DMB songs? I'd rather listen to DMB making mistakes than fuckin' any other band out there. and your exaggerating quite ridiculously, by the way. if your truly trying to convince us of something or "show us the light" , you may as well quit while your behind 'cause you're not gonna accomplish dick all. may as well type in Ancient Hebrew because it will generate just as much if not more of an agreeable response.gcom007 wrote:EVERY SINGLE BAND I HAVE SEEN DOESN'T MAKE A TENTH OF THE MISTAKES DMB MAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
