Ok so.....i read somethin about this on dmbcorner.
Anyone notice the variety of the setlist on this tour??
They seemed to be pulling out all the stops, going all out..
It's damn amazing BUT................................
Does this revival of songs signal "the end"??!!!
GOD I HOPE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't think so...with the material that they have for possible releases.
dave solo
garge dvd
possible D and T DVD
i think they may be around for a little bit.
plus i have confidence that this is what they want to do. it's what they love and i have a feeling that they can't see themselves doing anything but playing
Peace,

I still don't think that footage will be used for a D&T DVD...
Personally I think it's for a Stay Or Leave video or something of the sort...
Unless they were going to release like "Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live at Purdue", I can't see them making a DVD...

I think it's all prolly cuz there wasn't as big of a hype about the current summer tour so they're trying to mix up the setlists, pullin out some stuff they haven't played a whole lot. According to dmbalmanac.com it was the first time ever that 2nd night of a tour didn't include any repeats from the first.

Well, first of all they still have 4 or 5 more CD's on their contract that they have to do. Second, I think they just wanted to surprise everyone

in all actuality, i don't see them being a band for much longer. me and my brother were talking about this the other day. i think the fact that they are playing a whole bunch of their stuff they usually don't is a good signal that they are near the end. also the fact that two of the band's members have solo albums is a sign. and also it seems that dave's song writing has really gone downhill these last few years...
but i don't think that dave or anyone else in the band will just stop playing, probably just move on to different things. i wouldn't be too upset if they ended soon anyway, because, to tell the truth, i wouldn't really look forward to their next album.

Actually......they only have 1 album left on their contract. The Gorge DVD will be the final album that they will release on their current contract. They are shopping around for a new record label or might be going solo(maybe ATO?!?!?)
But seriously, they will always be the Dave Matthews Band. They might go on a hiatus for a little....but they will be back. Think about it. For the past 12 years they have played NON-STOP together. If they need a break it wouldn't be a suprise at all. Dave might do some solo stuff....Carter will probably jump around and do his amazing thing as will Fonze and Leroi....but they will always be DMB.
Look at Phish, they went on a 2 year break...and now they're back. I forgot which member stated it, but there was a quote in rolling stone...I believe the last of the entire article....that said, "As long as the four of us are alive, there will always be Phish." It's the same thing with DMB. There is no bad blood like Floyd and any kind of struggles within the band(that we know about). It's just a matter of doing something a little different to get back the love of being DMB. Everyone needs a break from something they've been doing for so long....every once in a while.

I read on nancies (or maybe it was a forum, can't quite remember) a while back that they had resigned a new contract before their old one expired and it was for 7 CD's, FF and BS were released under this new contract.

Oh....you may be right. It was my understanding that the Gorge DVD would be the last in their contract....oh well

Well, my source may not be very reliable, can't remember who it was. Knowing you, you're probably right.

i like both those songs, but come on, where are you going was awful. it justs seems like he can't write any more songs that aren't in the key of d

. and also the there is the fact that his last album only had about two songs on it that he didn't write during the mid-90's...
