Unidentifiable Clips

Unread post by Nitro1515 » Mon Jan 29, 2007 12:57 am

Let me preface this post by saying I do not believe these clips are actually DMB, but whoever put them together or recorded these sound pretty damn good. These are three 20 second clips that someone claims is DMB studio material, personally I think it is a tribute band, but regardless I like the way they sound

ya, i kind of hope it's not a dmb tribute band just someone influenced heavily by them and did it as a joke/prank. because i'd love to see some type of developed songs with these with lyrics.

I don't believe it's DMB, either, though I do believe there it could be. It just doesn't sound like Roi playing to me. On another listen I don't really like it all that much. It sounds overproduced and generic, too smooth-jazzy for me on some of the tracks. Though, if it is them, it's a helluva lot better than Stand Up.

tune4 is the only one that strikes me as being Roi-ish.

my brother listened, and said that one reason why it possibly couldn't is the drumming, he said in the first two it had too similiar of a high hat, and the third is just switched to more of the snare. he says it shows that this drummer was too programmed like im thinking muscularly or fixed into doing that, and he says carter does not stick to the same amount like that, he's way to good and way to versatile to do something that similiar in three tracks.

I thought about this, too. That's one of the things that struck me, the basic drumming.

im not saying these are authentic, but drumming will be basic early in the process...just keeping time for the song to develop

they sound similar to dmb songs already, like newtune4 has jtr written all over it to me, newtune2 sounds kinda like grey street and billies mixed, not sure about 3

but they all seem like they were written by somebody based off of dmb tunes to make them sound DMBish but different enough to sound new, maybe? just what im thinking

i agree that if they aren't DMB they are really good. they certainly all have something that jumps out as being DMB (more old classic DMB).

gianni, where'd you get these?

They sound like DMB to me except for newtune3, the changeup just dosnt sound like soemthing they would do, but it did kind of remeind me of how they end "Idea of You" for some reason so anythings possible. I'm not a drummer but the beat did sound Carterish to me.

They sound like LWS-era DMB to me, except for maybe 3. It's a little off somehow. But I hear no violin in these. I listened quickly, I may well have missed it.

Ya, the guitar sounded like the LWS.
