Batson and Roi on "Hip Hop is Dead"

Unread post by cart » Mon Dec 25, 2006 11:04 pm

"We are excited to announce that LeRoi performs as guest musician on the Nas song "Hold Down the Block" from his new record Hip Hop is Dead. Hip Hop is Dead was produced by Mark Batson, who produced Stand Up and is currently in the studio working with DMB on their next studio release. Hip Hop is Dead was released earlier this week and is available in stores now." (davematthewsband.com)

I still can't get over how they choose a guy to produce two studio albums thats a producer in the rap industry. I mean come on, somethings wrong when you have Nas' producer helping on your record after someone like, well lets use steve lillywhite, produced an album for you. Mind boggling...

i think RCA might be kind of forcing them to use a poppier producer, and they just enjoy recording in a different way.

I think when they finally break away from RCA, they can do things the way that they want too. I think if they do their own independant recording, it'll come out alot more nicely.

After reading an article in rolling stone last year around the time stand up came out, i understand why they have batson around. it said he rolls blunts non-stop. i mean this has to be the reason, right? it can't be because they like his hip-hop influenced nonsense.
