I apologize if this has been done before, but I am curious as to what your favorite summer 06 song is. (I'm listening to Shotgun right now from 8-25)

IOY, I guess. Honestly as time goes on, none of these songs have any staying power with me. Even Shotgun has been fading on me because of the lack of solid lyrics in the later versions. Its starting to remind me more of ABI than anything else.

Yeah, I kinda agree. These songs were so rough around the edges at these early stages that it's hard to really get attached to them. I haven't listened to Shotgun in quite a while, though, so that could have something to do with me liking it so much right now.

Is there a "None" option. Cause I'd choose that.

IOY, I remember when I first heard it, I was in a really good place in my life, first in a long long time, and the song just struck me in a way that a song hadn't done in a long time. Shotgun's a close second for me though.

I voted Sister. I just like how simple and sweet the song is. Plus, I love hearing Dave tell the story behind it just before he plays. It gets a small laugh, but the air completely changes once again when he starts playing.

I voted Break Free. I just think it kicks ass.

Idea of you is really good, and a close second. the jam in that song is neat-o

Kill the King is super awesome, but it gets old quick. I hope they develop that song some more. with some work, it can be really awesome

Shotgun, if you had the lyrics from the first time they played, mixed with the music of the last time they played,

IOY, but its such a tough call. shotguna would probably be second, break free third. however it keeps changing for me. it doesnt help that there are only good quality recordings for break free and IOY

i voted kill the king, though idea of you and shotgun are close. break free has so much potential, but some of the lyrics piss me off so bad i cant consider it a great song.

Gotta go with Shotgun. And I think I'm the only one that doesn't really care for IOY that much. Can't Stop is the only one I like less. Way less.

IOY for sure, I also really like Kill the King, but it doesn't
seem like many people I have talked to are fond of that song.
I really hope they put it on the new album, but who knows
they only played it 7 times and stopped playing it after the first
1/4 of the tour. One can only hope though.

I went with IOY, just because I think it's the most complete sounding. But shotgun from the first time they played it, that version was amazing, lyrically and musically.

I don't like the bridge or transition/intro/whatever it is that they added halfway through the tour, for that song anyway. I think it sounds like a completely different song. It's a very nice piece of music, beautiful actually, just doesn't fit with shotgun for me.

EDIT: 500th post. hello council member.
