Davespeak

Unread post by ericwormann » Sun Nov 12, 2006 11:26 am

I'm trying to expand on my website a little bit (http://geocities.com/ericwormann) with the song quote section. I'm looking for quotes from interviews, davespeak, etc. by Dave about different songs. Anything about the songs: how they were written, what the lyrics mean, the guitar parts, etc. If anyone has any audio/video clips or know of any interviews or shows with good quotes, please let me know. I think it's a project that a lot of people would enjoy.

I hope this is what's you're looking for. It was right before Gravedigger, at last year's Vegoose show.
"So this one radio station one time, was that uh it was uh reported to us cause uh, they uh they played Gravedigger a couple of times and then they stopped playing it because uh it made somebody cry, and they called in a complained. So at the same time, as I uh, I think it was stupid, that if music makes you feel something, you'd rather not listen to it again. But it's a compliment at the same time, it's like, a back-handed compliment. Maybe they just didn't want to playing the f'in thing and then they....but ah...I kind of blew the cover of what I was gonna play...the mystery is gone."
Hope it helps

"my late grandfather...i kinda wrote this song with my late grandfather in mind. he was pretty groovy. he's one of those people...he's from africa...he was one of those people who was born when we were innocent and terrible at the same time. now we're just terrible...haha...but uh...but uh...he was a good inspiration to me, and this song is about him when he was still kicking it."

I'm sure if you can find just about any version of Butterfly, you'll also get the soundbit of him telling the story about his daughters too. At least most all I've heard has started out with him telling the story.
