Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": "I once saw this in a movie, it was about a bus that had to keep it's "speed" above 50, and if it's "speed" dropped, it would explode...I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down"!

I think its just the recording quality and the amount of years ago it was recorded. I've found that a lot of the 92-93 shows sound out of tune but its only the way they were converted or their age.

I've wondered before, "how can they play an entire show and be soo out of tune?" I don't think its probable for the number of early shows i have that sound out of tune.

Just a thought though.......

yeah that's got to be the case because when i play along with some of the early recordings, it sounds like dave is playing between a half-step and a full step down, which isn't very likely (and i do check to make sure my guitar is in tune).

I've noticed this, too. I'm certain it's the diminished recording quality over the years. That happens with old recordings.
