Dave and rolling stone magazine

Unread post by flandaneran » Wed Sep 20, 2006 2:12 pm

I think rolling stone magazine has put a hating on dave and the dave matthews band. I remember in the years past he has not made the top album list, best guitarist list, or best song list in special editions of rolling stone that count down the greatest of these categories. Why is this?

Rolling Stone also gave Stand Up 3 1/2 out of 5 stars, that's extremely generous of them considering they only gave BTCS 3.

I don't trust Rolling Stone about anything and I am sad people buy that magazine.

dave is good, that is all. once you play a few of his songs you can almost play them all - catchy, yes, but not anywhere near one of the 'best guitarists'

Solid rhythm guitarist, but go look at some other players out there.

i really dont think they put a hating on dmb or dave. dmb has been on the cover a few times, and dave was on the cover during the dave and friends tour. they always have little blurbs about the band be it about recording, charity benefits, or tours.

rolling stone as a musical authority = laughable.

rolling stone as a general purpose magazine = actually halfway decent.

they gave kurt cobain #12 or something... i agree daves no clapton or hendrix, but hes much more original and more talented than many of the names on their list.

exactly. There articles are pretty good, but my god, some of their lists and reviews are sometimes way off.
