meaning for pig

well i just read this somewhere that pig is a song about the "tired notion" that humans are constantly looking for a brighter tommorrow but at the same time shouldnt live on the live for the day bases. my bro was over my shoulder and said "hell thats a contradiction" but it isnt and when trying to explain it to him i couldnt really find the words. little help. though itll probably come to me.
if i were giving advice to someone on how to fly.....

id probably say throw yourself at the ground..and miss.

I think the meaning of Pig is just to live everyday the way you want to and have fun as often as possible, because it can end anytime. It has the same basic message as songs like Lie In Our Graves and You Never Know. Too make it short, it's about dying, as so many songs are. As Dave said on Storytellers, "Are they all about dying? I hope not. Dying kinda makes us all alone and makes us all together at the same time."
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

Yeah, that's what I love about Dave. His songs are all (well not all, but a lot of them) about living the moment. I love that. :)
