This article was in the paper the day after the 8/1/06 show in cincinnati...the show opened with seek up which was a real treat, and later warren haynes came on stage to play a little jimi thing...this guy had the nerve to call seek up roughly the worst opener a show could have and then went on to discredit the 15 minute jimithing performance (think of Central Park). This is the type of guy who i have grown to dislike in the realm of DMB fans...people who claim to be a fan but truly lack knowledge of the band and "love DMB" because his or her friends do. does anyone else find that the shows they go to tend to be full of DMB posers or is that just a problem in cincy

its a huge problem in cincy, i was at the show, and the lawn was flooded with tards. deer creek shows are much better. i was let down by the show, but that article is completely absurd.
1) Seek Up was a fantastic opener, and was what i figured would be a great start to a show, ive always loved it in the opening slot
2) Isnt there an interview where dave and the guys have said they really werent fans of the grateful dead in the sense that they dont know a lot of their catalog. Granted this comparison could be due to the obvious Coran Capshaw tie-in. Even if that isnt the case, I will argue this point again and again, "DMB is not a jam band" I wish people would stop comparing them to other jam bands.
3) Jimi Thing was something i was hoping not to hear. But to see Warren play on it was a treat, I like what he adds to the song. Ive heard this song waaaay too many times live and would have been disappointed without the guest.
4) A majority of writers for the cincinnati enquirer, especially the critics are complete twats and I rarely if ever have agreed with any review they give. Therefore I hardly ever read the enquirer.
