Cincinnati Show Review

http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ ... 030/-1/all

This article was in the paper the day after the 8/1/06 show in cincinnati...the show opened with seek up which was a real treat, and later warren haynes came on stage to play a little jimi thing...this guy had the nerve to call seek up roughly the worst opener a show could have and then went on to discredit the 15 minute jimithing performance (think of Central Park). This is the type of guy who i have grown to dislike in the realm of DMB fans...people who claim to be a fan but truly lack knowledge of the band and "love DMB" because his or her friends do. does anyone else find that the shows they go to tend to be full of DMB posers or is that just a problem in cincy

I dislike it when people try to justify one of the worst shows (on paper at least) of this tour.

What an idiot. Wouldn't know a good show or good music for that matter if it smacked him in the face.

That just makes me angry.

he had the worst structure to a review ever.

but yeah hands down, a quick hungerr and crash dicks on jimi and seek up.

i like the dead, but i think that their solos are regarded as being better than maby they were,

as lotr would say "history became ledgend, ledgend became myth"

I think the one part of that article that really urked me was when he mentioned the 'crowd-singalong' part. I personally love DMB for that. They don't care when the crowd gets involved, in fact, it seems like the encourage it alot of times. I like that alot. DMB is a band for the people, at least how I like to look at it. You can't diss on the band when that's their thing, and they're one of the few that does it.

Plus, when he mentioned Haynes coming in, and possibly being allowed to show off his talent... its a DMB concert, if I recall correctly.

but, all-in-all, I'm not gonna let this get under my skin. The guys a bit of an idiot, and I like DMB. They've had their bad shows, but they've had their great ones. Cheers to the band is my final statement.

its a huge problem in cincy, i was at the show, and the lawn was flooded with tards. deer creek shows are much better. i was let down by the show, but that article is completely absurd.

1) Seek Up was a fantastic opener, and was what i figured would be a great start to a show, ive always loved it in the opening slot

2) Isnt there an interview where dave and the guys have said they really werent fans of the grateful dead in the sense that they dont know a lot of their catalog. Granted this comparison could be due to the obvious Coran Capshaw tie-in. Even if that isnt the case, I will argue this point again and again, "DMB is not a jam band" I wish people would stop comparing them to other jam bands.

3) Jimi Thing was something i was hoping not to hear. But to see Warren play on it was a treat, I like what he adds to the song. Ive heard this song waaaay too many times live and would have been disappointed without the guest.

4) A majority of writers for the cincinnati enquirer, especially the critics are complete twats and I rarely if ever have agreed with any review they give. Therefore I hardly ever read the enquirer.

I would hate to read a review from N2 at West Palm ... man watching those videos was one my saddest moments as a DMB fan ... I was embarassed for Dave. If I went to that show not a DMB fan and I had never heard them live, I would have left thinking "Wow, that band really sucked live." It was a real sub par performance, especially being web cast.

This guy doesnt back up his opinions at all so that people can relate to them. An article should paint an accurate portrait so the reader can really understand the arguement the writer tries to present. This guy simply doesnt like DMB and wrote an article, while poorly refering to one live performance, to show he doesnt like them.

Not only do I give no merit to his opinion, it's a really bad attempt at presenting an agrument
