my different DMB phases
so im just curious to see if any of you guys went through different phases, where you listen to certain songs more then others. ive had a bunch of them
first it was Ants, Crush, Rapunzel, Space between
then i got into warehouse, when the world ends, jimi thing, wwys
after it was alot of #41, bartender, pig, grey street
now im listening to say goodbye, lover lay down, dreaming tree and the stone more then anythign else.
not to say i dont listen to the other songs.. but when i turn on the mp3 player those would be the first songs i put on.
did any of you guys go through phases like this??

welcome to the boards.paddymor wrote:different songs for the type of mood.(grace is gone, broke up with girlfriend)
I've recently started going back to the oldies, like off of remember two things, under the table, and crash. For some reason I'm really diggin' playing typical situation lately. That song is so good when dave does it solo.

I think everyone goes through transitions were they can relate to certain songs better than others.
My top 5 have been pretty constant for a long time: Warehouse, Captain, The Stone, Fool To Think, LIOG.
Lately I have found myself listening to Some Devil a lot. It has filled the void that Stand Up left for me. SD is quite possibly the best album since BTCS. Everyday it grows on me a little more.
But there are certain songs that go in and out of favor with me.

I agree that it's a very good album, I love Some Devil, but it's hard to compare a Dave and Friends album (or dave solo, however you look at it) with a DMB album. It's actually very different music, even though it's Dave, there's a different vibe than a DMB album. Darker, more intense.mlb1399 wrote:I think everyone goes through transitions were they can relate to certain songs better than others.

The same essence is still there and I feel it is in the same ballpark as a BTCS or Lillywhite. It's definitely a different dynamic but I think you can still make comparisons. I would love for Dave & Tim to come up with an album with just both of them.
I don't know why but I have found myself enjoying D&T, Dave solo and D&F a lot more than DMB lately. It could be because they really haven't come up with anything interesting lately but I don't know.

I was never big on it either, and then for some reason one day i wanted to see what it sounded like when I played the whole way through. Now it's almost always the first song I play when I pick up the guitar, so I guess that's the faze I'm in now. I'm constantly trying to make it sound better and add my own feels.Milligan wrote:ive never been a massive fan of Typical, dont get me wrong, i think its a good song, a very nice well written song, but its just never really done it for me.
I'm also feeling pretty big on IBYU lately and gravedigger.
