butch taylor as part of the band........... like i know he is up there for all the shows but would you consider him officiall in the dave matthews band......just wondering what your guys opinion is on that..........

If someone asked me to name the members I would definitly name him along with the band...if that is what you mean? I think he is essential and the music wouldnt be the same without him.

yea because the jams would not beso lengthy and there wouldnt be that extra something that is a part of the beat of the music

i would definitly consider him part of the band! and i think this years tours they really let him shine. the keyboard and organ solos we're much longer. and he even got to scat!

I'd say no based on the fact that he does not have any input on composing the songs. He only compliments what is being played. Correct me if Im wrong but he just makes the live sutff sound better.

did dmb say something about them considering him in the band, just not signed with them because that would alter the contract, yet he is very much in the band and in studio with them?

That's not necessarily true. I saw an interview where they do consider him apart of the band.

He's on Stand Up quite a bit...and they interview him along with the other members on the DVD...i also remember seeing a video where some people are talking to the band and they request that Butch be brought out to sit along with them? something like that.

I think I saw an interview with them (Charlie Rose, maybe?) where the band considers each other brothers, and they call Butch a 'cousin'. They don't necessarily consider him in the band, but definitely a major contributor.
