My friend insists that Dave is somewhat drunk on that video. You guys have any insight?

He drinks Burboun a lot, I believe he mentions that. As for if he drank it before the show, I dont know, probably though. (didnt mean for that all to rhyme)

why does everyone think dave is always drunk/high?

me personally i don't think he was...remember this guy was an actor before he was singer....it's probably just an act....i mean he did the drunk bum for nancis how many times during the D&T tour..does everyone think he was drunk for all those shows. I doubt it.
I believe that it is just a stage persona that he pulls off very and everyone buys it. this is just my opinion.

and i'll be the first to admit that just as much as I could be right I could be just as wrong

that one i'll admit he's smashed...he admits it...but he wasn't really at his show..they just asked him to play a few...

i just find it hard to justify that he would get drunk before a national television program.....he's too classy for that...IMHO

I personally don't think he is drunk on the storytellers show. I'm just using my judgement of character.

Yeah, I didn't really agree with my friend that Dave was actually drunk, he is definitely too classy to pull something like that. But hey, wasn't that girl who said she'd buy him a bourbon pretty hot?

Dave has played high during live shows a RIDICULOUS amount of times. Same thing with playing Drunk. I believe 3/25/99 he was really, really drunk the whole time. http://www.nancies.org/tour/reviews/032599.html Check out the 2nd review.

As for him playing high....check this out from a Dave Speak Archive:

07/17/94----Backstage Tavern, Ballard, WA---After the last song, Dave comes back out for the encore and says “Sorry if it took a little while, I had to smoke a bowl.”

That was in 94.....I'm sure it happened AT LEAST up until 98....I'm sure still now also. He may have changed his ways considering kids now and stuff....but who knows. Enjoy

While dave may or may not be drunk on storytellers, he's definitely high. Dont argue with me if you dont smoke.

(For the record, I'm not a stoner, but I indulge here and there.)

I don't smoke, but I have a good number of friends that do, and he is without a shadow of a doubt stoned in storytellers.
