Leroi's Best Performance in a Song

Unread post by billywestom » Sun May 11, 2003 5:44 pm

I think I did this topic a long time ago, but not very many responded. I'd like to revive it. What song holds Leroi's best performance, live or recorded? Personally, the main reason #41 is one of my favorite songs is because of Leroi. That song on LIC is amazing because of him.

My favorite Leroi solo is in "What would you say?" live in Colorado. Everytime I here Carters drum solo there before Leroi's I smile cause it's so damn good. Leroi's solo there makes me dance.

any song on the lillywhite sessions. roi owns that CD.
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

His parts in Stay and So Much to Say are really cool. Also, the way they end Two Step in the live versions (I havent listened to a studio cd in a while) is really cool, his bari playing adds so much to it. Being a sax player makes you appreciate some of his stuff even more, like you dont know how hard it is until you've tried.
much love...
