when did you hear Dave the first time in you live? which song? what do you thing about this song now?
I was listenig to ben harpers cover of "song that jane likes" and one day i wondere what "DMB cover" behind the mp3 tag meant so i searched for more...the rest is history
at first CHRISTMAS SONG and the part "whend jesus christ....." let my neck hair stand up....and that hasn't changed this 5 secons are in my opinion the absolute absolution of music
î know the song isn't the same as a rapunzel....but this feeling....
Tell about your first DMB experience!!!

kinda same for me.
I was at a beach house in Del Mar california and it was getting late and I had been running aroudn the beach all day chasin tail and the video came on. I thought, who the hell is this and god this chorus sucks. But I actually dug it, but it was too different form my taste. Then I heard ants on the radio and knew i liked the music a lot.
didnt buy any albums though.
I heard crash and got turned off from the band. liked the song a little, but not my taste, didnt like SMTS either (still one of my least fav songs). so that kept me from beign a huge fan.
Then I came across a copy of UTTAD and started to get really into them and never looked back.
Fell in love with them weird enough when I heard dave on storytellers doing Crush. Right then I knew it was going to be my favorite band ever.

I had always been a fan, but sadly enough it was the album Everyday that got me seriously in love with the band. It was a good thing because the music only got better from that point as I discovered more. When you start at the bottom, you can only go up

UTTAD
I was like who the fuck is this guy? What's up with the way he's singing? The guitar was totally like inventing the atom bomb or something, I was mesmerized, confused and awed.

I remember hearing Ants in 7th grade maybe. I borrowed Crash from someone in 9th grade and turned it off after like 2 songs. Got into them senior year.

haha, same as me exactly except i think i'm a couple years older.
Ants will always be one of my favorites, i've grown to love WWYS, but that chorus just was lame when I heard it back then, Ants however should be everyone's first dmb song.

I forgot when but a long time ago, somebody posted Tripping Billies on a drum forum for everybody to check out Carter's playing abilitites. Was impressed, but tuned it out. Came back DMB after about a couple of months after that and listened to them ever since.

I hated Satellite and Crash Into Me when I was in high school, so I projected that onto the whole band. Even though I disliked the music at the time I still recognized the uniqueness and talent that they possesed however.
Anyway, one hot ass day in '99 me and a friend stopped by this dude's apartment and while we were all baked we stumbled upon Dave & Tim Storytellers. They played Crush and it just blew my mind. I went out and picked up BTCS the next day, had my mind blown some more, and picked up UTTAD & Crash over the next couple of months. It wasn't until April of '02 when I saw my first live show, however, that my fandom exploded into what it is today.

First time ever? I Did It on MTV. Loved them ever since.
First time Live was woodstock but never got a chance to really sit down and listen. I watched Central Park and creamed my pants, at this point I had all the albums but no live stuff... that has radically changed ever since.

Some dude played Ants with a band he got together at a retreat I went to maybe six years ago. A few months later my sister asked me to get some album called "Before These Crowded Streets" for her birthday. I did, but had no idea who they were. Then I remember hearing crash and hating the drumming on that song, to me it seemed like they were adding a military marching beat to an otherwise pretty tune. Then I stole L@LC from her a few times and was hooked.

Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
