Very Important Dave and Tim Ques. ab/t LIOG video from Jelly

Unread post by gumbomadness » Sun Jan 01, 2006 6:10 pm

About the LIOG video from Jellyfish's site,
during timms solo, you can clearly see his food tapping SOMETHING during his solo while he plays each line..
Is he tapping the digital delay, or the volume pedal? :?:

Im getting a dd-6 in the mail in a few days and its killing me to know where the is making that violin like sound with the dd-6 or the volume pedal..
i know its both in combination.. but ya, any help would help.

Should this be moved to Musicians gear, or Dave's Guitar, or General Guitar?
Impossible to know.

The violin sound is his Ernie Ball Mono Volume Pedal. I have both the volume pedal and the Boss DD-6 and they are very good.

The DD-6 is a very good pedal to start with, but you're not going to get a huge time to "sample" if that's what you're looking for. You might want to check out the Boss GigaDelay for that. The best features are the warp and reverse. Personally, I use the DD-6 now only on vocals and use chorus on my acoustic.

I went to Guitar Center 4 years ago with the same question but it was for #41. I gave them the Luther CD and asked them what makes this sound. They had no clue... So I borrowed my buddie Line-6 [green] and was able to get the sound from that. Can't remember what setting though but it sounded dead on. I also bought a ernie ball volume pedal but sold it.

I asked my guitar player and friend, when he gets back to me I'll post.

For the most part though, my buddy uses an octave box, a giga delay and a volume pedal, sometimes he'll uses a distortion/heavy metal box for intros to Watchtower....hopefully I'll have an answer soon.
