Unread post by shaggy » Sat Oct 01, 2005 9:51 pm

if dmb releases a new album next year, would if were overall dissapointed again with the album? if they have too many new songs who knows where the hell the setlists are going and room for oldies. should we worry?

You can worry. I won't. I actually don't care anymore but I bet a lot of people will reply to this thread to answer your hypothetical question. It's been ten years for me man... I'm kind of over it. I've seen them in their prime countless times..... The ride is almost over for me.

I just love the idea that more new material is coming out. Shut up about Stand Up. It's a good album. I am pumped that we get two new CDs so fast after waiting so long for new material. They play what they want to play and always make it happen! The live shows are always a blast.

Well this year, it seemed that the first few months of the tour sucked because they played way to many Stand Up songs. But towards the end (Red Rocks especially) it got MUCH better

i feel the complete opposite. When you've heard #41 40 times it doesn't have the dame effect. I lvoed hearing the new stuff.... Except Old Dirt Hill.

The new stuff live was good. I loved Dreamgirl and the ending they did with it.

well I only went to 1 show this year (Darien) and they played alot of Stand Up and I kind of enjoyed it but I got sick of seeing the same setlist for almost every show at the beginning of tour. I like to see cool things happen like at Red Rocks how they played Butterfly, Halloween, and Pig. That was so cool.

Those three songs in the same set won't happen again for a very, very, very long time.

true...but it is cool to see songs like that played every once in awhile even if they aren't all in the same setlist. I would love to see Sweet Up and Down and JTR played sometime soon....but it won't happen...

hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you

i think we all didnt like the SU-loaded setlists this summer because the album versions of all those songs were inferior to the live versions. what i heard live and through downloads were songs that id like to hear live. that everybody wake up jam? thats kickass! hello again? bayou? ab intro? ab? hunger? all good songs when played the way dmb plays them (as opposed to batson)

i think well get more of the same with the next cd, some batson-esque recording style which makes us not like it at first but then when dmb plays it live, itll be good.

they've come up with a lot of new material from jam sessions before shows this tour. so my guess is that it's going to have a lot of potential once they take it outside of the studio and on the roads
