yeah, I just needed to get that off my chest...
BTCS is so good and I hate that they'll probably never make anything as powerful than that again. I'm not trying to be like "oh let's go back" I'm just saying, dang, that was such a good album and everything after is just going to pale to it...such is time passing by...

BTCS really is an amazing work. Everytime I listen to it I hear something new. And the odds are that they will never make anything like it again. They were on to something great with the LWS, but of course they didn't follow through with it just like with the summer '04 songs and the utter disappointment that SU is.

i think im one of the very few on dmbtabs that isnt in love with the stone and btcs. its good, its definately dmb, but to me, its too "dark" if one could call dmb anytime too dark. i like the cp version of ddtw and dont care for the weak, unenergized btcs version...
definately a moving, emotional, well written album but i just dont care for it as much as i do the fun-loving type stuff on uttad and crash and r2t

UTTAD was my favorite album for the longest time mostly because it became so sentimental to me since its what got me hooked way way back in 94 when I was 11, however as I'm getting older I've realized that BTCS cannot be matched.Appfro wrote:it's my favorite all time album from any band. i in love w/ it sooooo much still. i can't get enough

I was the same way about UTTAD as it always took me back to '94, but BTCS is just unreal...it was the pinnacle and the guests made it absolutely perfect...a near flawless album...

No doubt. They need to get back to having guests on the album all the songs sound so empty, especially since they have turned Carter into a drum machine in the studio.gcom007 wrote:I was the same way about UTTAD as it always took me back to '94, but BTCS is just unreal...it was the pinnacle and the guests made it absolutely perfect...a near flawless album...

All the greats have been "drum machines" in the studio at one time or another. Its just Carter doing some "Pocket Playing" and grooving. Dennis Chambers, sickist chops out there, played with P-Funk and did nothing more then what Carter is doing on Smooth Rider. Dennis is by far better then Carter, and here he is playing even less then what Carter is playing. Oh well.Nitro1515 wrote:No doubt. I understand that. I guess I just don't see the point of it. Carter is the most gifted musician in the band and they completely forgot about him on this past record. I guess we will have to wait until the next one to see if this becomes a permanent thing in the studio.Beauford33 wrote:All the greats have been "drum machines" in the studio at one time or another. You dont think Carter had any say in what would be done with the grooves?Nitro1515 wrote:I understand that. I guess I just don't see the point of it. I know that's what he wanted. I just don't see the point of it, he's too talented to be scaled back like that. And that is why you need a real producer in there who won't let them make stupid decisions like that.Beauford33 wrote:You dont think Carter had any say in what would be done with the grooves?Nitro1515 wrote:I understand that.
