i was just scrollin through my cds lookin at the song credits and stuff when i came upon this thought, idk exactly how each song was written but does anyone here believe that stefan also can write, very well. on btcs, some of the best songs out of this like rapunzel, last stop, stay, dreaming tree all included stefan, and also he came up with the famous "crush" bass line, the song would never be like it is full band if that wasn't there. idk if you guys would think so, and they can songwrite anyway they want obviously, but i have reason for believe that if dave and stefan did co-write together, i think it could be some really moving music, and i know you would rather see "words and music by dave matthews and stefan lessard, than "words and music by dave matthews and glen ballard". lol

Stefan is an incredibly melodic bass player. And yes with the exception of Hunger For The Great Light he is a very good songwriter. For example Rapunzel was created from a bassline that he came up with called "Funk in Five". Also The Dreaming Tree was created from a bassline that Stefan came up with and Dave and him came up with the Last Stop together as well.

No Dave writes all the lyrics himself, except on Stand Up where he seemed to get bombared with influences on what each song should be about.

Hunger is a cool song! But I think Rapunzel takes the cake for best song that Fonzy has helped with.

i dont think hes as good as he was with hunger, i love the song, but that chord progression is so anoying theres a million different ways he could of made it so much better.
