bad dave songs

Unread post by matthews123 » Wed Apr 09, 2003 3:07 am

hey ok this is my first post thing or whatever but if there is another thread or whatever....my bad.

ok so i have no school today score but im too lazy to pick a playlist and just play it so i highlight all of my dave songs and put them on there. i think its like around 9 hours and i just play it and it lasts all day but anyway i was sitting around with my brother and then space between came on and he says 'man i hate this song'

this bothered me because how could he hate that song or any dave song for that matter. now i understand some dave songs are better than others but i dont think there is such a thing as a bad dave song. yea maybe he meant that he hated that song compared to some of his other songs which would make since.

i was just wondering if anyone could think of a dave song that really really hated or just didnt think he did a bad job on cuz i couldnt think of anything.
if i were giving advice to someone on how to fly.....

id probably say throw yourself at the ground..and miss.

If I was your brother I would have strangled you to death a long long time ago.
I hope someone slaps some sense in to you, as this is the only solution to your problem.

i do the same thing. "dave weekend extravaganza's"

well the bad dave song is a tough one. i cannot say that i hate any of them but its kinda impossible to have every song be so awesome and not have some so-so ones. also, when it comes to preference, people just differ. i like to say to people who dont like dave: "well, you just dont understand it. it must be too musical for you..."
i almost only get dave haters from people who only know about crash and songs their girlfriends like etc.
anyways: i do not dislike any song. i have some i may skip over on occasion but overall, daves almost batting 1000.

I won't disagree with you, but the words he sings to the music don't even pass for lyrics.

There is only one song of Dave's I would say I truly despise - "Dreams Of Our Fathers" (from here forward will be referred to as DOOF because that is EXACTLY what it was).

Musically the song annoys me and lyrically the song has NO meaning. Not ONCE in the song does Dave ever begin to suggest what the dreams of our fathers might be nor does he make any allusions to it....he just doesn't want to wake up in them. I will give the song kudos for the chorus which is actually a recycled version of Little Thing but I would have much rather had a studio version of Little Thing as opposed to DOOF.

With the exception of DOOF I will say there are some songs on DMB CDs that I am more likely to skip than others but it doesn't show preference one way or the other - it's just dependant on my mood of the moment. If I'm flying down I-75 with the windows down on a warm day (we call this a really good mood, typical for me) listening to Crash, the last thing I want to listen to is Let Me Down. Still an excellent song, just not the mood I'm in.

And I will admit that Everday is probably the least used of any DMB disc in my collect. I don't dislike the album and in many ways I appreciate it for its diversity - it's not completely pop and it's not typical DMB, just a bit of a divergence but I'm not going to turn this into an Everday thread.

Basically, I'm such a fan of the music DMB produces, as I'm sure many of you are, that when I say I dislike a DMB song in NO WAY does it compare when I say I dislike something such as Backstreet Boys (or whatever these kids listen to these days). There are very few bands that I can judge by the same standards of DMB - they ARE that good.

when i think of DMB songs that i dislike..i dont really dislike them, but i think i like them less than most other people do..

for instance, Bartender..it's the last song on Stuff, so i am usually picking out a new cd before that song starts...i like it, but i think a lot of people like it more than i do..

i dont have any opinion on anything from everyday, i dont have it nor have i taken the time to download it...hehe....i actually do like I did it, though

i feel bad that the only song i can think of is bartender, but i guess sometimes i can do without the dreaming tree and digging a ditch...
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...
