Isn't it about time Butch became officially part of DMB?

He's on their albums, he plays with them in their concerts ... I'm sure they have an arrangement but it can't just be financial resistance can it?

I don't think I'm that cynical.

yeah. i know he has his "i wanna do my own thing" feelings, but he's pretty much with them 100% of the time, especially lately.

The band has said numerous times that they love Butch, but they are already a tight "family" and they arent going to add more people officially.

Me either, they started in the early 90's and came a long way before Butch got with them, he shouldnt be an official member, he didnt make them, he just joined them and enhances them. Honorary member, on albums, tours, etc, yes, but not official.

i read somewhere i think dave said butch is a family member but he is more like a cousin than anything. i will try to find it

I heard that they all for the most part consider him a member and that is was a record label decision to keep him out. But to me it wouldnt make sense that someone with songwriting input would be "a part" of the band. who knows, i am stoned.

Nah. Nor should Tim (for obvious reasons).

DMB is DMB only with Roi, Stefan, Boyd, Carter and Dave. That's it.
