Stand up Copy Protection: How to copy freely, itunes etc...
This is some BS. Is there a way to get the songs from a CD I purchased (standard, not DD) to play on itunes? If not who do I kick in the face?
EDIT: See solution below, many thanks to Nitro for showing me (And you too potentially) the solution to this. I am positive no one wants this to facilitate free pirate copies of this great CD, this is up here to avoid the stupid bullshit the copy protection causes.

Point me to the original and I'll be a happy camper. Also, the files are not transferable to itunes in their current state. They go, and skip like a motherfocker.jsgksu wrote:yourself for making another thread about this

well... i bought a standard copy yesterday for my friend, since i had preordered the dual disc (which is not in yet *grumble*)... the cd came up on itunes no problem, but we have no internet connection yet at my new house, so it came up as "audio cd, track 01, track 02... etc". pain in the ass... clearly no one wants me to hear this album.

Ah yes, but copying it to the computer is the problem. Who wants to keep the CD in the drive eternally? Oahu, try this out. It seems to be working for people who are having problems, there are steps near the bottom of the page.

I'm definitely downloading them from the itunes store. I do not want to have to fuck with a cranky CD.

what I did, was transfer it to my ipod, used Ipod Agent to transfer it back in m4a format, and then converted them to mp3'sOahu wrote:Ah yes, but copying it to the computer is the problem. For those of you who want to avoid this problem:
1) If you have already loaded the CD and installed the "License" follow the above instructions to turn that fucker off, and then:
2) Put the CD in the drive, if autorun is disabled, you are done, if it's not, just wait for the "Launch CD" installation feature to pop up, and then leave it sitting there, don't acknowledge or reject the terms of agreement, and copy the CD in it's entirety. When you are done close this window. NEVER INSTALL THE "LICENSE" IT'S BULLSHIT AND IS COPYPROTECTION.
Hope this helps someone else.
