American Baby

Unread post by jellyfish » Sat Mar 26, 2005 12:20 pm

You can lock this if you want. But, i really love this song after listening to it for a week. It gives me those good chills that I used to get when I first heard the older Dave songs.

Discuss.

Initially, I first thought the song was OK, but no I love it.

Yeah, i think its a pretty cool song, will never be up there withthe great Dave songs, hope the live performance improves though, from a vocal point of view.

I was thinking it was just OK too, then i listened to it a few more times, and liked it more and more each time. THEN i drove to it for the first time, and loved it!

But, those live preformances from Ausie...well to be honest i thought they were terrible. They sounded nervous, and i thought the song lacked the energy it has on the CD....hopefully they will figure out how to make it sound more full on stage.

I hope you guys realize that this is new to them. Was it 23 songs they wrote? Give them some credit, soon it will be unflawed.

I thought the Aussie live TV show version was good. Dave's vocals were better in it. The band is always sub par on TV though. With a band like DMB, you can't get a good picture of their vibe from just one song. Also with a band like DMB it sometimes takes them more than one song to really get into things. Just about every band out there sounds like shit on TV talk shows. But I think DMB is still the best sounding band I've seen perform on TV shows like that.

The song itself has grown on me. Getting the MP3 of the album version helped. The first version we were graced with with that AOL fucker talking the whole time pretty much ruined the song for me. The end jam is great with Roi's solo. I just hope the rest of the album is better and less radio friendly.

oh shit man thats ur site.....awesome job...i have watched the 30 minute jam god knows how many times....great job with puttin that up....but as far asa merican baby just look at all the other dave singles.....i think for the most part the real dave fans get into the rest of the album much more then the singles so im just waiting on the rest of it. i mean likecrash, where are you going, all great songs but in comparison to the rest of the stuff ya know what im sayin

I said it before, they should have teased the intro longer and waited to hit the "staaayyyyyy". It's just too soon.
I love the song though and teh outro rocks.
